“Greenland is not for sale”
At a press meeting in Copenhagen Jan 13 at 15.00 the Danish Prime Minister Mette Fredeiksen and the Head of Government of Denmark very clearly spoke out: The direct address before the meeting at the White House between Vance, Rubio and the foreign ministers of Greenland of Denmark. The direct consequence seems to exclude negotiations or conditions for a peaceful USA tekeover.
The second message was also clear. “We stand together”. Directly understood,: The time is nor suitable for diasagreements internally between Greenland and Denmark. This isn important item. The postclonial story betwwn inuit culture and development of a modern Greenlandic identity is a slow moving development. So this can be seen as an actual statement. Greenlands prime minister acknowledges that just now Greenlands constitutional belong to Kingdom of Denmark is not an actual qestion during thus crisis.
Underneath observers may have realized that Greenland’s Naleraq Party has during long time worked for a closer USGreenlandic relationship. Kuno Fencker, and party chair Pele Broberg and others work directly and actually for splitting and speeding up for a closer relationship both to Trump and the US Government.
Thus the signal from Jens Frederik Nielsen, PM of Greenland, was at the same time clear to Naleraq-
